I'm writing this blog in Iligan City. Yes, I'm once again at the City of Waterfalls and this time, it's for #EatIligan Year 3. I arrived yesterday together with my colleagues from the Google Business Group / Google Local Guides - Cagayan de Oro and was really excited for this event.
#EatIligan is an Iligan Food Appreciation Tour highlighting Iligan City's local food scene. Social Media influencers and bloggers are invited to participated in the event to experience what the city can offer and post about it in their blogs and other social media platforms. For this year, it will run for 3 days from July 27 to 29.
Upon arriving yesterday, we were fetched at the bus station (Thank you, IBS!) and we headed to Fortune Suites to check in and freshen up for the opening of the activity.
Then, we went to Jacko's Kan-anan for the opening of the event. It's the first stop for our "food appreciation" tour. #EatIligan's partners gave some talk about their products and programs during the opening activity.
Streetby was there to talk about their all-in-one lifestyle app. At the end of their talk, the participants who downloaded the app got P200 credit in their Streetby wallet. Of course, I got mine since I have been using the app for quite some time already.
Smart was also there to support this year's #EatIligan and they gave out watches and new sims to all of us. How cool is that?!
Keepsakes Iligan also gave some souvenirs which will truly make our #EatIligan experience more memorable.
Our group was also given a chance to talk about Google Local Guides. Ms. Alma of GBG CDO discussed about the benefits and importance of being part of Local Guides and contributing to Google Maps.
Then, the most awaited part of the day's activity started! Guess what it is? Eating Time! :)
Jacko's Kan-anan let us try their mouth-watering Filipino dishes. I personally love the Crispy Squid, Kinilaw, Shrimps, Law-oy, and my most favorite, Danggit. Well, I guess you can just say that I loved everything they served us. All of the dishes were delicious! I swear! I highly recommend it if you visit Iligan City.
Their main restaurant is located at C3 Road, Hinaplanon, Iligan City. Go check the place in Google Maps! :)
Our next stop was Paseo de Santiago, a new tourist attraction in the city. The boulevard has become a destination for both local and tourists to enjoy good ambiance, landscape, food, and music. It's a great place to bond with family and friends. You can even ride the kalesa, which Iligan City is also famous for. Entrance Fee is P20.00 only and is located in Brgy. Santiago.
The last stop for the first day of #EatIligan was Greenwich. At first, I was wondering why this was part of the itinerary since the fast-food restaurant is not originally from Iligan City. But I was glad that they included this because I got to try the new Cheesy Steak and Fries variant and realize that I can actually eat pizza without pineapples. Hahaha. It's now a new favorite! :)
Then, we went back to our hotel to rest and get ready for the next day. Day 2 is coming up!
P.S. I would like to thank Iligan Bloggers Society for being so accommodating and generous to us. They even gave out this bag of groceries to make our 3-day stay in Iligan more convenient.
