DANCE TO THE BEAT OF MOTHER EARTH: A Climate Change Awareness Program
Posted on Monday, August 6, 2012
DANCE TO THE BEAT OF MOTHER EARTH: A Climate Change Awareness Program held yesterday at the Pelaez Sports Center, Cagayan de Oro City was a huge success. A Project by the Junior Chamber International-Kagayhaan Gold chapter, the objectives were to encourage people to live a healthy lifestyle by this dance work-out and by the P100.00 paid, they will also be able to contribute to the distribution of segregated trash bins to the different Barangays in the city. Not only that, community members will also be trained to become aware of Climate Change.
We will be bringing back this event next year. Watch out for it! :)

I was really excited when they announced that there will be a regional series and one of the venues would be here in my hometown, Cagayan de Oro City.
It became one of my most anticipated runs of this year and I was able to do it! Yes!
Ran 10 K for 1 hour and 13 minutes. That's a one-minute less than my 1st 10k run in Manila. It's not a bad record for somebody who did a lot of walking, chatting, and picture along the way. I enjoyed it!
10 K runners wait for our turn at the starting line
At the starting line... and it actually rained!
run....
run....
...and 1 more kilometer left!
At the finish line with my co-teachers' Am and Jez who are runners as well
10 K finisher, once again!
freebies!!!!
games after the run!
The prizes we got after the run!! Love it! :)

As you would notice, I am really fond of running. I started this addiction in February of this year and since then, no one could stop me from going an extra mile. And recently, I got to participate in a unique fun run here in CDO. It was the first Halloween Fun Run and people were running in their craziest costumes! From superheros, disney characters, cartoon characters, and halloween characters, everybody geared up for the craziest fun run this year!
Of course, I was there to RUN. I chose to be on the safe side by wearing a "customized" cheerleader costume which was still comfortable. I ran with my friend and we became sexy cheerleaders that night. I was still able to beat my record while enjoying the run. Though there were some glitches (which made me so disappointed that time), what is important is that I was able to give back to the community since the fun was also for a cause.
Here are my pre and post run photos:

Million Volunteer Run (Red Cross)
Posted on Thursday, October 20, 2011
It will be on December 4, 2011 with a registration fee of P500.00 for the 5K run. It includes Red Cross 143 ID Card, Million Volunteer Run T-Shirt, Whistle, and Race Bib. Plus, I love the route! :)
Hopefully, they will organize it better this time. I do not want what happened during the Eco Run to happen again.
35th Milo Marathon (So frustrating for me.)
Posted on Tuesday, October 18, 2011
Well, it's really not about the organizers. In fairness to those who organized the event, it was successful. My frustration is actually personal, especially that this was my first MILO Marathon.
First, this is the first time I ran without a race bib. I won't be telling why but at the beginning of the race, I was not motivated anymore because I did not have such thing. I would really like to have the bib because it has a timing chip and I would love to know my exact running time. Not only that, I have to be in the crowd so that the organizers would not see me running without the bib. As we all know, a runner is supposed to show/ wear his/her bib in the course of running.
Second, because I did not have the race bib, I decided not to finish the run. Yes. I stopped at the entrance of the sports center and did not mind reaching the finish line. Thus, I wasn't able to get my finisher's certificate.
Third: During the run, I had to crisscross many times because people were just like strolling in the mall. There were just too many 5K runners and I think most of them were required by their schools. So I guess, that's a lesson for me. I will never ever run 5K in a Milo Marathon again. Will opt for 10K next time.
Lastly, the race started kinda late. Even my friends would say that. It was already very hot when the race ended.
On the positive side, I actually love the route of the 5K run. I just hoped I had my race bib. And this is also the first time I run with one of my best friends. Aww. Nice.
And by the way, I did not give much effort because I just had my hair "rebonded", so no super duper sweat for me! hehe. :)
I wasn't able to take photos during the run because I did not have a friend with me. So yeah, here are the photos after the Polio Run! :)

Freebies!!! :)
This keeps me motivated to go on running!!!!! :) More runs soon!
