August is National Language Month or Buwan ng Wika. To celebrate it this year, the Film Development Council of the Philippines will produce the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino. They have partnered with the different cinemas all over the Philippines to exclusively screen the participating films on April 16-22, 2017. Personally, I think this is a great move for the Philippines and I think it's really time that we support Filipino-produced movies. Many of the Philippine movies right now, especially those which are independently-produced, are getting better.
In Cagayan de Oro, there are already two cinemas which confirmed their support to the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino: Centrio Mall and Limketkai Center. Plus, they are also offering different promos for moviegoers for the entire month of August!
